Tip using MS Clipboard to save workFollow this advice when composing emails or documents to avoid a potential headache
Have you ever been composing an email and the application or web browser crashed? Here is a simple computer tip to help keep you from losing work and time:
Tip using Microsoft Windows:
When entering text using a word processor, composing an email or into a text box on a website, hold CONTROL and hit A to SELECT ALL (of the text) in the box. Next, hold CONTROL and hit C to copy the selection (all text) to the Windows Clipboard. You can actually hold CTRL, hit A then hit C while still holding CTRL. You don't need to release CTRL. Doing this will SELECT ALL of the text in the box, document, email, etc. and COPY it to the Windows Clipboard. Then you can go on typing and editing your document. Before you get too much written, be sure to follow these steps again. The selected text is copied to the clipboard. Repeating the steps will overwrite the previous information saved to the clipboard. If your application happens to crash you simply open it up and use CONTROL V to PASTE FROM CLIPBOARD into the application. Try it, I'm sure you'll find it useful.
Ultimately, I do this all the time; even putting this page together. I wrote the software I use to create, edit, update the content on this website and which also creates the site. We are in an imperfect world and sometimes the internet hiccups, which can lead to lose time and effort.
NOTE: Not all Windows applications use CTRL A for select all. Usually you will find the option under an EDIT menu option at the top of the application.
